Neck pain can also be caused by high blood pressure, extreme anxiety, stress and other mental illnesses.
Body position: People who sit crouched, have a high pillow when sleeping, often have to work with their knees bent, sit at the computer, chair or other place with their neck bent, work, do not adjust their physical position while sleeping, often suffer from neck pain.
Especially nowadays, when working, there is a problem in the neck due to chapping the mobile or phone between the ear and the neck, talking for a long time and using the mobile, tab or laptop for hours.
Seating: The type of chair or sofa can also cause neck problems. This problem is also caused by the use of tools or chairs and sofas that do not keep the neck straight, unlike ordinary chairs. Similarly, the type and condition of seats in bicycles, bikes, cars, etc., also play a role in creating neck problems.
Bed: Too thick a mattress, too soft or too hard a bed, an uneven bed can also cause neck problems. In the same way, the problem in the neck can often be due to the different and incompatible head of the body. Too high or low, too soft or too hard, too small a pillow can cause this problem.
Injuries: Injuries to the neck due to an accident, sports, exercise, yoga practice (especially postures) or work can cause neck problems. Muscle strains, spasms, incorrect or excessive exercise can also be a factor.
Other diseases: Cancer in the neck, the effect of bath disease, etc. can also cause neck pain. Migraine headaches can sometimes be accompanied by neck pain. Mental problems can also cause pain up to the neck.
How to know
A physician can make a preliminary diagnosis by examining the cause of the neck pain. The doctor can diagnose neck pain by looking directly at the patient’s affected area, touching, applying pressure, or moving it to the head-neck or shoulder area.

In case of severe pain, apply hot and cold compresses on the neck, shoulders and back at the rate of one to two minutes daily, five to ten minutes hot compresses once or twice daily and in case of swelling, apply cold compresses for about ten minutes.

(A) Exercises performed by moving the head and neck:
Caution: These methods should not be practiced in certain situations. For example, severe neck pain, swollen bones, bone loss and excessive nerve compression. But in the case of normal muscle pain, it can be done slowly. If you experience pain once or twice, stop.
Stop talking by placing the phone between the ear and the shoulder.
Method (1): Keep your back straight. Now turn your head to the right and pause for a moment. Now turn your head to the other side (left). Practice in this way 5-10 times without giving any jerks.
Method (2): – Turn the head up and down in this way, that is, bend the head / neck forward and touch the chest with the elbow, stand for a while and then keep it straight again and try to look back as much as possible. Do this 5-10 times.
Method (3): – Slowly tilt the head with the right and left turns and try to touch the ears with the ears. Do this 5-10 times.
Method (4): – Now move the head gradually to the right, back, left, forward, that is, turn it around. When rotating in this way, rotate the head very slowly, touching all parts. When you hurry, you feel dizzy. If you do it one by one with the reverse turn, the ring will feel less.
(B) Exercises without moving the head and neck:
Exercise sitting or getting up.
Method: – Place your hand on the conch. Fill the breath. Now gently press on the head with the hand until you stop breathing and keep the head steady and release by pressing the head with the hand.
In the same way, on the left conch, then place both hands on the forehead and hold the breath in the same way, keeping the head and neck steady by pressing with the force of hands and head. Finally, with both hands on the side of the ear, lightly lift a few pounds upwards using the force required to lift and release.
(C) Shoulder exercises:
Can be practiced sitting or getting up. When there is pain in the neck, it shows symptoms from the back to the shoulders. For that, this exercise is beneficial.
Method: While inhaling, slowly lift both shoulders up and exhale and keep down. Do it five to ten times.
(D) Spinal cord:
Method: Get up and sleep. Spread both hands to the right and left of the body in a straight line and tighten the fist. Hold your legs slightly apart and hold your breath. Now exhale and turn your legs and head in opposite directions.
When doing this, touch the ankle of one foot to the knee of the other foot, but both these parts should be on the ground. Hold your breath for a while and then turn in the middle while inhaling and exhaling.
Caution: It is important to practice as slowly as possible.
(E) Makarasana or Shraddhasana:
This is a special posture for relaxation.
Method: Sleep on your knees. Turn both feet one-and-a-half feet apart, turn the toes to the right and left, touch the floor with the inner ball of the foot and relax the foot / body. Now bring both hands forward and bend the elbows and lift the head slightly and lean on both the palms.
After sitting like this for a while, keep your body down and rest your forehead for a few minutes with your forehead resting on the back of your palm. Repeat this 2-3 times. Do this twice a day.
Caution: It is not advisable for pregnant women to sleep on their knees after three-four months of pregnancy. Similarly, when you have more chest pain, you should not do this asana for a long time. In case of severe pain in the neck, do not lean on the elbow.
In this way many types of compound exercises and asanas can be done. Compound refining methods should also be used. The use of pranayama, pratyahara, dharana and meditation to reduce pain is also very beneficial.
People suffering from bath disease, especially uric acid (uric acid) and neck pain, should eat sattvic compound food i.e. fish, meat, eggs, nuts, beer, gin, golbhenda, copper, persimmon etc. Instead, eat more fruits and green vegetables.
Drinking more water and exercising the whole body, walking in such a way as to get rid of sweat, is beneficial in neck pain caused by increased urination. For other types of problems also simple food should be eaten. In case of normal urination but weak bones, calcium rich foods (milk, cheese, juvenile etc.) should be eaten.
Vitamin D deficiency should be supplemented by sun exposure. In special cases, it is necessary to get the opinion of the doctor of the related disease (neurologist, orthopedic specialist, etc.).
Ways to avoid:
Stay upright while working, sitting or sleeping. Keep the spine straight from the head. Take precautionary measures to prevent injury. Don’t go anywhere. Select the size of the pillow, the height of the bed, the right place to sleep.
Some people shake their heads when they cut their hair. That too can be a problem, don’t do it. Do not do head-bending exercises, asanas, dances or learn such exercises only under the guidance of a guru. Stop talking by placing the phone between the ear and the shoulder.
If you have a habit of carrying things on your head, don’t carry them. Do not lift heavy bags or weights. Consult a doctor at the beginning of the problem if there are any symptoms like lumps in the neck, swelling, burning and tingling in the hands and back or if necessary.
